Summer School

Our week-long residential Summer School takes place annually in June and is organised by each partner university in turn. Summer School includes student research presentations and poster displays, a water-themed “Challenge”, a site visit, and talks from leading academic and industrial partners.

First and second year students are resident all week and have a great opportunity to interact both with their peers and with students at different stages of their PhD research, including working in mixed teams on the “Challenge”. Third and fourth year students join Summer School for the poster session, which showcases the research of all four cohorts, and for the award ceremony and formal dinner.

Summer School week hosts our annual Advisory Board meeting, which gives students the rewarding experience of networking with and presenting to a wide range of academic and industry guests. We also hold our Board of Examiners meeting, which reviews Postgraduate School marks and annual progression for all students.
