14th Young Coastal Scientists and Engineers Conference

WISE CDT students Paul Bayle, Gwyn Hennessey, Benjamin Beylard and Richard Rees attended the 14th Young Coastal Scientists and Engineers Conference which took place at the University of Hull, from the 19th to the 21st of March 2018. This event gathers early career PhD students, academics and professionals from around UK and Europe and is a great opportunity to keep up-to-date with current research projects.

Presentations and posters along with keynote lectures covered a large range of topics including salt marshes, coastal adaptation, ecology, coastal socio-sciences, laboratory based studies, numerical and computational modelling. The conference also provided a range of opportunities to network with both developing and established researchers. The first day provided social interactions during a field trip to Spurn Point National Nature Reserve, in the mouth of the Humber estuary.
