WISE student works with Wessex Water

Identifying faults in pipework

WISE PhD student Joshua Myrans has been working with Wessex Water on a project to identify faults in wastewater networks. In a recent visit to its headquarters Joshua demonstrated his work, presenting his refined fault detection methodology, which was developed with footage provided by their sewer rehabilitation team. This opportunity was a chance to discuss the future of the project by sharing ideas and giving insight into current practice. The meeting secured the use of additional data vital to the project and a visit to surveying teams in the field to see the developing technology’s integration in to current practice. This open working relationship has been useful for Joshua’s work and shows the importance of collaborations between WISE students and industry partners.
